PRESS RELEASE

MY SOPHI™ REMOTE PATIENT MONITORING NOW AVAILABLE DIRECT TO CONSUMER IN CSRA/AUGUSTA

AUGUSTA, Ga. (July 29, 2019) NavCare, a division of US CareNet, today announced that they have begun testing My Sophi™ Remote Patient Monitoring as a direct to consumer retail option in the Central Savannah River (CSRA), Augusta, Georgia area. The retail website, MySophi.com, launched on July 15 offering options for 24/7 health monitoring services with leased wireless monitoring devices. In addition, My Sophi™ is being offered through its sister company, Care Partners @ Home of Augusta, a private duty, in-home service provider.

“Our company has provided care management services and telehealth monitoring for our patients in the homes and communities of seniors across the country for many years,” said Rick Griffin, President and CEO of US CareNet. “It makes sense for our company to utilize the experience we have gained and expand our services while we test our retail opportunities.”

My Sophi provides 24/7/365 vitals monitoring directly through the NavCare Care Center. Based in the home office of US CareNet and NavCare in downtown Augusta, the NavCare Care Center is staffed with trained clinicians who are certified Medical Assistants, LPNs or RNs and are employees of NavCare, never outsourced to call centers.

The devices, which could include blood pressure monitor, glucometer, pulse oximeter, spirometer, scale, fall detection devices and medical alert buttons, communicate via a two-way communication hub. The hub uses cellular connections and no Internet or landline is required.

The retail test, which affects 18 counties in and around Augusta, Georgia and Aiken, South Carolina, will run for the remainder of the year with the intention of launching the program nationally in 2020. To learn more visit MySophi.com.

THE NEED FOR REMOTE PATIENT MONITORING

About 28 percent of people over 65 years of age in the United States, nearly 14 million people live alone, according to the Administration on Aging. While many seniors prefer living independently, with this independence come risks including falls, undetected symptoms of emergent and chronic conditions, missed medications or overdose, as well as social isolation. Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) is designed to address these risks by allowing patients to transmit their health data daily in a secure electronic format via wired or wireless measurement devices. The data is sent to clinicians, caregivers, and care monitors who flag abnormal readings and alert caregivers and/or clinicians when these abnormalities occur. RPM can empower patients to better manage their own healthcare, provide a more holistic view to healthcare providers of a patient’s overall health status, and possibly intervene and / or avoid care episodes. An added benefit is peace of mind and relief for over-burdened caregivers, many of whom may be managing two households and may also have full-time jobs.

»What people are saying
about My Sophi™«

I started using (My Sophi) NavCare health monitoring equipment at the advise of my cardiologist. The primary driver for its use was to get my blood pressure under control. The monitoring established patterns for when I was high that allowed my cardiologist to adjust my meds and get me in excellent control. A byproduct of using the equipment was that it brought my weight into my focus and I've lost ten pounds.

I found the equipment easy to use and not disruptive to my daily routine. I tried to keep a schedule but that's not always possible. A key component to my success was my interface with the (My Sophi) NavCare care team professional who kept a constant eye on my readings and kept my cardiologist informed.
